Attracting young people to reading, fostering their love for literature and art, discovering and supporting young creative talents, and nurturing in them a sense of devotion to the Motherland are among the key priorities of our society. The role of national spirituality and ideology in helping the younger generation acquire modern knowledge and broaden their worldview is invaluable.
With this aim, as part of the “Sharing Enlightenment” (“Ma’rifat ulashib”) project, meetings with renowned literary figures are being organized in higher education institutions. One such meeting with representatives of the “Caravan of Enlightenment” (“Ma’rifat karvoni”) was held at the Almalyk state technical institute.
The honored guests included:
- Muhammad Ali Akhmedov — people’s writer of Uzbekistan, outstanding poet, translator, pedagogue, candidate of philological sciences, laureate of the youth union of Uzbekistan award, state prize of the republic of Karakalpakstan named after Berdakh, International Khoja Ahmad Yasawi prize, recipient of the order of Labor glory (“Mehnat Shuhrati”), order of “El-yurt hurmati”, independence medals (15, 20, and 30 years), laureate of the state prize of the republic of Uzbekistan, honored mentor of youth of the republic of Uzbekistan, holder of the Alisher Navoi gold medal of the International Turkic Academy, and honorary professor of the Mamun Khorezm academy.
- Khumoyun Akbar — member of the writers’ union of Uzbekistan, poet, translator, publicist, and first deputy editor-in-chief of the literary, scientific, and educational newspaper “Jadid”.
- Khurshida Vakhobjon kizi — sensitive poetess, head of the Andijan regional branch of the writers’ union of Uzbekistan, leader of the literary circle “Followers of Babur”, and recipient of the “Shukhrat” medal.
During the meeting, the guests emphasized the importance of regular reading as a source of enlightenment and inspiration, encouraging students to seek meaning in life and strive for wisdom regardless of profession. The poets also highlighted the importance of promoting national ideas, enhancing the effectiveness of spiritual and educational work, and fostering literature and reading culture in society.
At the beginning of the event, the guests participated in a tree-planting campaign held in the institute’s courtyard. At the end of the meeting, a Q&A session was conducted, followed by the poets’ visit to local schools where they met with students and shared their creative experiences.
