Duties of the head of the academic and methodological department
- Organize the activities of the department and manage the work of its staff;
- Develop work plans for the department and ensure their implementation;
- Coordinate the academic and methodological activities of faculties, departments, and chairs within the institute;
- Ensure the implementation of the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Education, Presidential decrees, orders, resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers, and decisions and instructions of the Collegium of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation;
- Participate in communicating the content of decrees and resolutions adopted by the President and Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan to departments, faculty members, and students;
- Supervise and coordinate the implementation of the decisions of the Institute Council, Central Methodological Council, and Faculty Academic Councils regarding the organization and support of the educational process;
- Participate in the organization and conduct of State Attestation Commissions for undergraduate students and the final qualification defenses of graduate students;
- Oversee the work of assistants and responsible staff members involved in the educational process;
- Take part in events related to the employment and career guidance of institute graduates;
- Summarize annual faculty reports and prepare the institute’s annual general report on educational activities;
- Develop “Working Curricula” and “Academic Schedules” for educational programs;
- Organize and oversee the preparation of “Class Schedules” for all academic programs for the academic year;
- Ensure the preparation of annual and quarterly reports on the student body;
- Manage the enrollment and planning of part-time teaching staff, and develop training plans for educators in accordance with the Regulation “On Retraining and Professional Development of Managerial and Teaching Staff of Higher Education Institutions”, approved by Resolution No. 242 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 20, 2015, ensuring timely dispatch to relevant institutes and centers;
- Monitor the retraining of teachers who did not pass final examinations in educational institutions and centers, and report results to the rector;
- Participate in reviewing the legality and fairness of scholarship awards to students;
- Take part in scheduled inspections to ensure transparency of the student knowledge assessment rating system;
- Ensure the proper implementation of the academic and methodological work specified in the annual individual plans of professors and lecturers;
- Organize and coordinate practical classes, lectures, and training sessions conducted by faculty members in accordance with the approved academic schedule and plan;
- Analyze students’ academic performance and progress, identify academic backlogs, and prepare appropriate recommendations;
- Possess in-depth knowledge of information and communication technologies;
- Comply with the institute’s internal regulations, code of conduct, and dress code.
