A legal seminar held for students

The first vice-rector of ASTI, doctor of philosophy in political science, associate professor B.Jamiyev, conducted a legal seminar on the content of article 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Article 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes that our country is a “sovereign democratic republic.” This provision means that Uzbekistan, as a state, is independent and freely conducts its domestic and foreign policy. The term “democratic republic,” in turn, indicates that state power belongs to the people and is exercised through a balance between the branches of government and legal guarantees.

During the seminar, the historical foundations of this article, its role in strengthening independence, as well as practical examples of the implementation of democratic principles, were discussed.
