At the Almalyk State Technical Institute, the first scientific and educational event dedicated to the establishment of this higher educational institution was held.
The main purpose of the event was to strengthen among young people a sense of patriotism, responsibility, respect for science, and dedication to their profession.
The ceremonial event titled “I am a student of New Uzbekistan” began with a ceremony in which first-year students took an oath of loyalty to the Motherland, responsibility in their studies, and service to society.
The meeting was attended by the institute’s administration, faculty members, international guests, parents, and students. Acting Rector U. Halikulov, in his opening speech, spoke to the students about the conditions being created at the institute for obtaining high-quality education, the development of scientific and practical activities, and innovative ideas. He also highlighted the essence of the Institute Development Concept and wished the students success. As part of the event, a cultural and educational program with the participation of creative groups was presented. Talented students were duly awarded by the institute administration.
Almalyk State Technical Institute was established on the basis of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-279 dated September 8, 2025, in order to meet the demand of the Tashkent region for highly qualified specialists with modern knowledge and skills in the fields of engineering, metallurgy, manufacturing, and mining.
Almalyk State Technical Institute, where large-scale transformation processes have begun, is currently actively developing in accordance with the Development Concept. Its main goal is to train qualified specialists for the mining and metallurgical industry, bring the quality of education up to international standards, commercialize scientific and innovative ideas, and enter the ranks of leading higher educational institutions.
From the very first days of the institute’s establishment, a Development Concept was created. The implementation of this concept will make it possible to establish a modern scientific and educational center that will supply the economies of Uzbekistan and Central Asia with highly qualified specialists in engineering, metallurgy, and mining, as well as ensure the sustainable technological development of the country’s industrial sector.
Today, Almalyk State Technical Institute is a higher educational institution with about 6,000 students studying in 11 academic areas. The scientific potential of the institute is 47.3%. Out of 165 faculty members, 78 hold academic degrees. In addition, for the first time in the past 40 years, a faculty of this institute has been opened in the Bekabad district.
The institute has partnership agreements with higher educational institutions and leading industrial organizations from 15 countries, including Russia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Turkey, Iran, Hungary, Belarus, and others.
