Representatives of the Almalyk state technical institute (ASTI), headed by the acting rector U.Khalikulov and associate professor of the department of technological machines and equipment B.Yusupov, held a videoconference with the director general of the International institute of Welding (IIW) Luca COSTA and the Head of the department of international qualification and standardization Rosario RUSSO.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the issues of introducing international qualification requirements into the process of training qualified specialists at IIW, the possibility of awarding internationally recognized qualification categories, as well as areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Within the framework of scientific collaboration, the discussion also covered participation in international research projects in the field of welding and related areas, as well as the publication of articles in high-ranking scientific journals.

In addition, information was provided on the use of 145 types of scientific literature and resources available in the IIW Institute’s library, and on the possibility of accessing all issues of the scientific journal “Welding in the World” (indexed in Q1, Scopus, and Web of Science databases).

Furthermore, the prospects for training internationally recognized specialists at ASTI, implementing ISO standards in the welding industry, and elevating international cooperation in this field to a new level were outlined.
